Russian pensioners travel more frequently
MOSCOW, March 11 – RIA News. Analysis of the preferences of tourists of retirement age over the past three years has shown that they began to travel more frequently, reports Ozon.travel.
Since 2016, the number of actively traveling retirees has increased by 5%. All this time, the domestic leader remained the undisputed leader, and Moscow, Simferopol and Sochi were among the three most popular. St. Petersburg pensioners began to choose less often – for three years, the demand for it fell by 2%. Krasnodar and Mineralnye Vody remain consistently in demand.
Of the foreign destinations, Armenia and Germany remain the most popular for three years. Also in the top five in different years included Italy, Moldova, Spain, Georgia, Israel and Turkey.
Despite the high price and long flight, the demand for Thailand and the Dominican Republic is increasing. For three years, interest in them has grown by 5%.
Most often, retirees fly in pairs, especially abroad – 92% of these travelers go on a trip with family members.

Named cities for cheap spring travel in Russia
Men more often travel alone to Armenia and Azerbaijan (about 17%), and women more often than men fly to Israel (40% more) without couples, as well as to Spain and Italy (15% each).
On average, pensioners are willing to spend seven thousand rubles on a trip to Russia, and up to 17 thousand rubles on foreign trips.
Peak trips occur in the summer and autumn – 43% of all travel occurs at this particular time.
